Privacy Policy
Today some reporters from the Associated Press wrote to me to inquire about the privacy issues in services like voo2do. I cobbled together responses from various user inquiries I’ve received, and out the other end came a privacy policy. It shouldn’t contain anything unexpected; as with anything in voo2do, let me know what you think.

Hmm, nobody comments on the privacy policy. Does that mean nobody cares? Do people just, uh, trust me because I work hard to make a free service that looks good and works well?
Are people acting naievely, or is it good news that sometimes you *can* trust a stranger?

I think the policy captures very well the assumptions about respect and fair play that your users probably made when they signed up. That may be naive, but people are more inclined to trust small orginaizations, and in this case it certainly was well placed. I think the policy is excellent, and I’m glad to see you making it offical.

That’s good enough for me.

What Mike said. If your privacy policy had been significantly at odds with what people expected, you would have heard a lot more feedback =]

Shimon-
From the get-go it was clear you started this as a labor of love. People who share there hobbies with others (and I realize this may no longer be a hobby for you – it’s taken on a life of it’s own!) are not out to hurt or take advantage of other users. It’s obvious to everyone trying this site that you are, as Google once claimed, “not evil!”
